Dr. Pangloss knew a thing or two.

I am in the fortunate position of being responsible for 2 websites and their linked newsletters that concentrate their focus on Darling. The two websites share common ground with Dorpskoerant.co.za the supporting act to Evita.co.za the headline act.

Dr. Pangloss in Voltaire’s famous satirical work Candide, ou l’Optimisme believed that everything happens for the best.

My association with Evita se Perron started just a few short months ago and I am enjoying the energetic vibe, the scope and, most of all, the forward planning.

Evita se Perron management is clear and focused. The Perron provides the very best possible entertainment options and variety with easy access from Cape Town to Langebaan and beyond.

How far is it to Darling ?

Just scroll down towards the bottom of the page and you will see a table of distances to Darling.

The relationship between Evita se Perron and tourism in Darling has always been very strong.

With my focus now totally on the electronic presence of Evita se Perron and the Dorpskoerant the synergy is becoming increasingly apparent. The inter connections will grow stronger to give you, our readers, more information about what is happening at Evita se Perron and in Darling.

How’s this for forward planning ?

Evita se Perron carries a Calendar and schedule of all their events for 2018. A full schedule together with information about the Perron restaurant and the variety of shops and facilities. Not content with a full 2018 schedule being published for you to peruse, Perron Manager Ilsa has already mapped out the first 3 months of 2019. We will be publishing the January through March schedule very soon. The objective is to ensure that the Events Calendar has a minimum of 9 months building 12 always available to you.

Many Darling visitors and Perron visitors are national and many are international; they require long range options to plan their visit to the Western Cape.

If more events are added you will be the first to know.

The Dorpskoerant currently carries articles about events, tourism, lifestyle and general news. As we move along, the Dorpskoerant will carry more articles about what to do, how to do it and where to do it.

Between the 2 websites and newsletters we aim to create and nurture a space for you to explore what’s happening in Darling and the hood, what’s new and exciting and what tourism Service Providers are offering.

STOP PRESS – the Evita se Perron restaurant menu is under review and a new menu is coming soon. You’ll read all about it first on the Perron and Dorpskoerant websites.

Want to keep in touch ? Sign up for the free weekly Dorpskoerant newsletter, which is delivered on a regular day at a regular time, Wednesday before 09h00 (and has been for the past 4 years). The new monthly newsletter the Bapetikosweti Basuin,  focused on Evita se Perron, is published monthly and contains the upcoming events schedule for the next 2 months building 3 plus news and information about the Perron. Drop me an email at editor@dorpskoerant.co.za and let me know which newsletter(s) you would like to subscribe to. The Bapetikosweti Basuin will be going out this week-end, so if you’re quick you can sign up in time for this month’s edition to drop into your Inbox.

How can we help to improve your electronic experience ? What can we do to promote Darling the village and Darling the concept ?

Best regards and hope to see you soon.
